Devised as an economical and easily deployable solution for interference
cancellation on CDMA and WCDMA/HSDPA networks, ICT is delivered
as an ASIC/core solution that integrates seamlessly into existing
baseband chips.
As field evaluations have highlighted the prevalence of interference
on wireless networks, and operators are convinced of the benefits
canceling interference on the network, it is inevitable that interference
cancellation solutions will be implemented. As operators
drive towards low-cost, high-performance solutions, they are showing
broad interest in ICT due to its compelling economic benefits and
its improvement to a consumer’s experience.
- Requires no modification to existing or evolving air interface
standards.
- Can be seamlessly integrated into baseband chipsets of CDMA
and WCDMA/HSDPA mobile devices today.
- Requires no other components and no re-design of mobile radio
frequency (RF), which results in no form factor changes required
in the mobile device.
- Occupies a very small silicon footprint.
ICT is the only technology applicable to multiple communication
protocols that is capable of canceling interference from all channels
in a signal (i.e., overhead and traffic) whether from adjacent base
station sectors or from multi-path within the serving sector.
- Meeting the industry’s demand for more capacity and enterprise/consumers
demand for higher data rates and reliable service.
- Simple integration with existing baseband designs.
- Universal applicability—operates in any carrier frequency.
- Complements other technologies such as receive/transmit diversity.
- Outperforms linear equalizers and in many cases is comparable
to MRD at a fraction of the cost.
